Imaging Research Lab Opens In NTU
MICROVISION, the company behind the PicoP laser display engine technology, which powers display and imaging products, will be setting up its first research facility outside of the United States in Nanyang Technological University (NTU). The two parties inked the Memorandum of Understanding on Thursday. The company is intending to staff its research facility with up to 25 engineers by 2012, to work on advance research and development projects.The centre will be housed within NTU's Innovation Centre, which is managed by NTU Ventures, the commercial arm of NTU. 'Singapore is a hub for exceptional technical talent and productivity, the students at NTU are first-class and we are confident they will bring a wealth of new ideas and fresh thinking to our research and development efforts,' said Mr Alexander Tokman, MicroVision's president and chief executive officer, in explaining why his company is opening its first research facility outside the United States here.
