NTU Is First In Asia To Receive 5-Star Rating
Singapore: Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has been awarded the highest rating of five Stars for excellence across all eight key areas under the QS Stars rating system, the first Asian institution to get this recognition. It scored the maximum of five Stars each for research quality, graduate employability, teaching quality, infrastructure, internationalisation, innovation and knowledge transfer, third mission (community engagement) andspecialist strength.

MicroVision, a leader in innovative ultra-miniature display technology, has set up a research and development centre at NTU that will focus on developing innovative breakthrough products using MicroVision’s PicoP display technology. It plans to staff the new facility with 25 engineers by 2012 to work on advanced projects, provide operational support, and build upon the company’s current portfolio of over 500 patents. NTU’s faculty and students will work with MicroVision in engineering, microelectronics and materials science projects at the centre, which will also provide internship opportunities for NTU students.
